Improving Literacy Outcomes: Blended Learning Strategies & Read 180 Intervention
In order to improve reading and literacy skills for 6th grade students who had not met reading proficiency, I implemented and monitored a reading intervention program called Read 180. The blended learning solution received the highest Effectiveness Rating from What Works Clearinghouse for its impact on student outcomes in comprehension and literacy achievement for adolescent learners. Aside from improved reading and literacy skills, the project aimed to increase student confidence and efficacy surrounding reading. In addition, through instructional learning rounds, the project aimed to increase teacher use of blended learning strategies to improve learning outcomes throughout the school building.
